Verna Pauline Siggelkow

Verna Pauline Siggelkow, 93, of Janesville died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Cedar Crest where she had resided since December 14th. She was born in Center Township, Rock County to Paul and Meta (Gottschalk) Bratzke. She married Clarence E. Siggelkow on March 3, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1975. Verna worked for Parker Pen during the war, at the Alpine Restaurant for many years and in later years worked as a sales associate at the Boston Store, retiring in 2007. Verna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Janesville where she was active in the Mary Circle and Altar Guild.
Verna enjoyed spending time with her three children, seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Verna was an avid world traveler having been to Hawaii, South America, many European countries and numerous Caribbean Islands.
Verna is survived by a daughter, Phyllis (Robert) Penheiter of Lanesboro, MN, a son, Ronald (Sally Averkamp) Siggelkow of Madison, and son, Steven (Jackie) Siggelkow of Janesville, seven grandchildren, Alan (Sumedha), Kristi (Andy), John, Leslie, Bobby, Margie and Madeline, three great grandchildren: Sonya, Sasha and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, a brother, Merwin Bratzke and a sister, Edna Kuelz.
Verna’s funeral will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with Pastor Bond Haldeman of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery
